The five time Tony nominated musical, Sister Act finds an aspiring singer, Deloris Van Cartier, in a bit of trouble after witnessing a crime. With the help of a police detective, she goes into hiding in a place no one will ever look for her, a convent. Deloris’ adventures in living with the nuns, provides the plot of the show.
Sister Act’s very talented cast will include Donna Gagner as Deloris Van Cartier, Sylvia Issacson as Mother Superior, Brandon Brown as Curtis Jackson (gangster boyfriend of Deloris), and John Dutmer as Police Detective, Eddie Souther. Monsignor O’Hara will be Bob Rogers while Sister Mary Robert is Haley Hong-Johnson, Katie Dean as Sister Mary Patrick, and Jill Stearns as Sister Mary Lazarus. Other Sisters include: Carol Hougdahl, Rachel Westberg, Laura Hawkenson, Alaina Tomesh, Shannon Brown, and Helen Goosby. Also in the cast are Matt Koenitzer and Ed Hougdahl.
Sister Act’s creative staff includes Cathy Jones Wolf as Director/Choreographer and John Dutmer as Musical Director. Sister Act was written by Cheri and Bill Steinkellner, Lyrics by Glenn Slater, and Music by Alan Menken. Musical numbers include: Take Me To Heaven, Fabulous Baby, Raise Your Voice, Bless Our Show, The Life I Never Led, Spread the Love Around, and Sister Act.
